Garden Center & Nursery

Garden Shop: Our Garden Shop is filled with an assortment of unique home and garden gifts. Outdoor gardening products include cedar planters, window boxes and trellises, a wonderful selection of ceramic pottery, both traditional and the increasingly popular organic fertilizers and pest controls and a well stocked section of bird houses and feeders. Our recently constructed glass greenhouse is attached to the front of our store allowing customers to walk freely through both retail areas. This new house is filled with both foliage and flowering houseplants, dish gardens and seasonal plants.

Nursery: Evergreen carries an extensive collection of nursery stock. We have always maintained a wide variety of trees, shrubs and vines. The diverse selection of plants and their quality have been Evergreen's trademark for years. We are now growing many of the new hybrid Proven Choice shrubs noted for their hardiness and seasonal interest including longer flowering and attractive foliage. Our nursery contains various sizes of plants from the 1 and 2 gallon size potted plants up to large landscape size, balled & burlapped trees. We grow all of our own ornamental flowering and shade trees along with certain varieties of flowering and evergreen shrubs in our fields at Evergreen. We also grow many varieties of flowering shrubs, including a large number of native plants, in containers.

Field Nursery: Evergreen grows a wide variety of both common and unusual shade and flowering trees in the nursery located on our property in Seekonk.  Just a short walk from the back of our garden center, the nursery is neatly maintained with rows of grass between the various trees.  It is a particularly enjoyable walk during the spring when leaves and flowers are emerging and again in the fall as fruits, berries and autumn foliage brighten the landscape. 
     We a committed to growing those trees that offer disease resistance, insect tolerance and all-season beauty.  A few of my favorite flowering trees that we grow include:  Japanese Stewartia, Japanese Snowbell, hybrid Dogwoods, hybrid Flowering Crabapples, Amur Maacia and Carolina Silverbell.  Exciting shade trees include:  Autumn Blaze, October Glory and Red Sunset Maples, Green Mountain and Fall Fiesta Sugar Maples, Japanese Katsura Tree, and Heritage River Birch.

Perennial Flowers: Evergreen's selection of perennial flowers increases every year. With the interest in perennial gardening on the rise again, we have over 500 varieties of perennials, wildflowers and ferns available. Our perennial display garden has been planted with over 100 varieties, many of which are our favorites.

Annual Flowers: In late winter, we begin the process of growing annual flowers in our greenhouses. These spring and summer flowers are available in an assortment of sizes and containers. Again, as with the nursery stock and perennials, we are noted for our diverse selection of annual flowers, hanging baskets and mixed /combination planters. We are growing many of the hot, new Proven Winner varieties of annual flowers which are noted for their stronger growing habits and more abundant flowering.

Seasonal Newsletter: Evergreen' s newsletter is written in house and mailed to our customers twice times a year. We share our horticultural experience and knowledge and give gardening advice for each season. The newsletter also includes landscaping articles, a question and answer section, a section where a featured tree or shrub and a perennial flower is highlighted, updates on what's new in the nursery industry and at Evergreen, and information on gardening classes and workshops available at Evergreen.

Christmas at Evergreen: During the holiday season enjoy a walk through our warm, sunlit greenhouse filled with many varieties of poinsettias grown here in four different pot sizes. Several types of English ivy topiaries are available in the shapes of wreaths, Christmas trees and more. We also carry flowering cyclamen, which make great house decorations or gifts. You can select a live Christmas tree or a freshly cut tree from our own tree farms or select a gift from our enlarged 'garden' gift shop. Our designers will custom make a holiday arrangement just for your home. We have holiday greens, door charms, swags, wall hangings, fresh roping (white pine, balsam, laurel, and mixed), custom made wreaths and custom made bows while you wait. At our annual workshops we help you design, make and decorate a holiday decoration (a Boxwood Tree or Candle Centerpiece) for your home.
